Omega’s Defense Mission Support Services Business Unit will be rolling out the Technical Rescue and Emergency Management Program in June 2016. This new program will offer training and exercise support for Military, First Responder and Public Safety professionals. Rescue Swimmer Technician will be the first course offering!
This is a 3-day course combining classroom, practical exercise and testing. The first course will be held in Oak Ridge, TN June 17-19, 2016, location to be announced. Registration fee is $300 per student and includes course materials, expert instruction and Rescue Swimmer Technician certification. Course Description: This class will prepare an individual or team with the Rescue Swimmer, moving water (1- 3 knot) and flood rescue skills and knowledge needed to complete an internationally recognized course. Upon completion, students will be certified as a Technician level III Rescue Swimmer and will be capable of performing specific water rescue tasks such as: rescuing victims who are drowning, recognizing how powerful, relentless and dangerous flood and moving waters are and how difficult making a water rescue can be. This course meets NFPA 1670 and 1006 guidelines.
